Tom Stoddart- War Photographer- Dayton Clark

david-cameron-lampTom Stoddart is a british photojournalist who has covered world tragedies including the Bosnian genocide, the African AIDS pandemic, 911 and the war in Iraq. “I’m not really interested in military bang-bang pictures; I’m interested in documenting people living through war.” this is Stoddart’s approach to documenting conflict as is evidenced in his photos. Stoddart often discusses the complexity of covering a war and how photojournalists can leave the affected area but civilians cannot. I have chosen three images from the siege of Sarajevo in the 1990’s and one image from the falling of the Berlin wall. stoddart-sarajevo_10stoddart-sarajevo_11stoddart-berlinwall07stoddart-sarajevo_04
